Call for Nominations: Collection Assessment & Evaluation Subcommittee

The Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL) is seeking nominations for two member roles on the Collection Assessment and Evaluation Subcommittee. 

Reporting to the OCUL Information Resources Committee, the subcommittee provides operational support and guidance in the evaluation of e-resource renewals and potential vendor deals. 

Subcommittee membership terms are typically staggered, with one- or two-year appointments to help ensure continuity.

Subcommittee Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support to OCUL Information Resources Committee in evaluating e-resource products and offers.
  • Advise on tools and/or software to aid collection evaluation.
  • Enhance knowledge of e-resource evaluation/collection assessment within OCUL member libraries.
  • Produce collection assessment reports, as needed.
  • Where appropriate, liaise with other assessment groups within OCUL to share information about and to collaborate in collection evaluation and assessment.

Subcommittee meetings are generally held monthly via videoconference. 

Nominee Eligibility

Individuals must be from an OCUL member library and can be nominated by their direct supervisor, university librarian or self-nominate. Nominees should have experience and interest in collection assessment. 

Submit a nomination for the Collection Assessment and Evaluation Subcommittee.

The nomination deadline is October 17, 2025 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
